Block or report someone
Two tools, both one click away from the message or the person.
Block someone
Open the menu on one of their messages, or their profile, and choose Block. From then on:
- They cannot message you, nudge you, send you a friend request or ping you.
- Their messages in a shared channel fold away as “Blocked message”.
Changed your mind? Unblock is in the same place.
Report a message or a person
- Open the menu on the message and choose Report message, or choose Report on the person’s profile.
- Pick a reason: spam, harassment, hate, sexual content, violence or threats, self-harm, a scam, someone under 13, or something else.
- Add a note if you want, and press Send report.
Where a report goes
- A message in a space goes to that space’s moderators, and to us.
- A direct message, or a person, goes to us only.
- Moderators never see who sent a report.
- The message is saved as it was when you reported it, so deleting it later does not hide it.
What a moderator can do
Delete the message, time the person out (they can read but not send) for 10 minutes, an hour, a day or a week, kick them, or ban them. A ban can be lifted, and the space keeps an audit log.
In a room without an account
Anyone in the room can press Report this room, and the host can remove a person or end the room.
