Bring your Discord server's layout with you.
Paste a server template link. The categories, channels and roles come along. Messages and members stay behind.
Step by step
- In Discord, open your server’s settings, then Server Template, then Generate template. Copy the link (it starts with
discord.new/). - In MySquare, create a space, or open the one you have. How to create a space.
- Open Space settings, then Import from Discord, and paste the link.
- Press Preview. You see exactly what will be added before anything happens.
- Press Add to this space.
What comes along
- Categories.
- Text channels, announcement channels and voice channels, with their topics.
- Private channels stay private.
- Roles, with their names and colours. Each role gets the closest of our permissions, and never more than it had in Discord.
What changes on the way
- A stage channel becomes a voice room.
- A forum or media channel becomes a text channel.
- Any other kind of channel is left out, and the preview tells you which.
What stays behind
- Messages.
- Members. Send them an invite link instead: how to invite people.
- Emoji, stickers and bots.
Good to know
- The import only adds. Nothing already in your space is removed or renamed, and a role with the same name is kept as it is.
- It brings up to 50 categories, 200 channels and 100 roles.
- In your space you need the “Manage channels” permission, and “Manage roles” for the roles. The owner has both.
- Your Discord server is not changed. A template is a copy of its layout.

Questions
Do my messages come along?
No. A server template holds the layout only: categories, channels and roles.
Do my members come along?
No. Make an invite link for your space and send it to them.
Does this change my Discord server?
No. A template is a copy of the layout. Nothing in your Discord server is changed.
Will it remove or rename what is already in my space?
No. The import only adds. A role with the same name is kept as it is.
How big a server can I bring?
Up to 50 categories, 200 channels and 100 roles.
